We had a blast at Playtime Paris discovering the latest and greatest in children’s fashion. With over 400 brands showing their up and coming Fall Winter 2015-2016 Collections there was so much to discover during three full days at our favorite European international children’s & maternity fair.
A few trends that particularly stood out at Playtime include Urban Street Art, Back to Nature, Shapes and Silhouettes, and Vibrant Colors.
URBAN STREET ART : strong messages and graffiti inspired clothes often with a touch of humor.
Julie from the Smallers created some beautiful trend spaces with key pieces from various designers based on the theme of Board Games. The “Break the Rules” space was full of graphic, urban fashion from designers including Caroline Bosmans, Indikidual, and Ruff and Huddle.
Lucien Zazou designs graphic tops and bottoms with graffiti pixel prints.
Fabric Flavours designs a fab line of sweatshirts and t-shirts dedicated to Star Wars and other Superhero icons using vibrant patches and embroidery.
DguiZ designs kits that include an outfit and accessories that transform the outfit into a costume. The Bat Hoodie is a best seller and we love the graphic bat mask that comes with it!
Akid has a very cool line of shoes for the urban kid. We especially love these silver and gold studded slip-on trainers.
10 IS continues to grow and develop with a variety of styles including low tops, high tops, velcro, laces, and now also . This season we love the graphic black and white fur shoes. 10 IS has also just launched a very nice trainer for kids with Bonton.
BACK TO NATURE : winter scenes, trees, and animals.
Tiny Cottons continues to inspire us with their use of graphic prints and organic cottons. This season, they are celebrating winter with a HIBERNATION theme including prints with winter animals, pine cones and more. We love their mix and match prints. Each piece seems to go well with one another no matter what the choice.
Papu is a Finnish brand designed by artist Anna Kurkela and graphic designer Hanna-Riikka Heikkilä. The brand designs each collection around a poetic and original story. We love the abstract winter prints.
Iglo & Indi make a line of cosy winter jackets and raincoats with comfortable fleece lining. On these coats and throughout the collection we love the adorable winter characters including eskimos, foxes and bears.
Blune Paris designs a very diverse collection appealing to all tastes. We especially love this retro style wolf print top.
Mint and Kids design some amazing jacquard knitwear that is just as beautiful on the inside as on the outside. We love the graphic trees and sheep and all knits are super soft on skin.
VIBRANT COLORS : From blood orange to bubble gum pink, a refreshing take on the typical sober winter palettes.
Pinata Pum from Barcelona does not think twice about color! From oranges, yellows, ocean blues, blacks and whites, this collection is fun and bright.
Oeuf NYC celebrates FOODILICIOUS with bright colored fruits and veggies made to wear. We love the baby alpaca and soft pima cotton designs along with some amazing accessories including animal mittens and veggie pillows in greens, reds, purples and yellows.
Macarons dares color with their hand woven fabrics and soft lining using punchy greens, bright peach and deep yellows contrasting with black, white and pastels. A truly original, high quality brand! Macarons is also launching a capsule collection for men and women. We cannot wait!
Louise Misha also adds splashes of fuchsia and yellow to almost every outfit. We especially love the bright floral cardigan for girls that we also want for ourselves!
Gardner and the Gang, a brand that is always known for their bright colors, remains true to their style with flashy prints and colors. This collection is the best yet with wearable prints for color lovers.
Tootsa MacGinty designs playful functional fashion and always uses color! This blue and red jacket with removable sleeves is one of our favorites as well as this green sweet deer sweater.
SHAPES AND SILHOUETTES : with an emphasis on chunky knits, textures and layering.
Ine de Haes who won the MilK Must-Have Award, plays with 3-D wool shapes hidden inside clothing that create dramatic geometric shapes in pockets and shirts. We love her use of draping and adding an original form to each silhouette.
We love the feminine chunky knits by Luisa et La Luna that create volume and add texture and beautiful shapes.

Wolf & Rita design a unique collection inspired by minimalist artist Ellsworth Kelly. We love the color selection, sweaters and knit hats with giant pompoms.
Tambere, from South Korea, uses various materials to mix and match including puffy jackets, quilted pullovers, and poetic prints.
Veja makes this beautiful pair of trainers in tilapia. This strong fish skin creates a fabulous texture on the shoe.
We did not photograph certain favorites including Bobo Choses (The Unknown Mountain Journey), Mini Rodini, and Soft Gallery (The Scene), but we will definitely write more about them later! Last but not least, here are a few articles from brands that we are especially fond of.
