The sunny season is on it’s way. It ‘s time to get your fill of vitamins by biting into juicy fruits or enjoying them in delicious salads, smoothies or compotes. Miss A is ready! In her colored string bag are oranges for freshly squeezed juice in the morning and in my bag are a variety of fruits for a special “pretty, pretty” fruit salad with magic syrup (see our recipe below!) . We shopped at the local Farmer’s market for fresh fruits and in order to make our unique recipe, we cooked a few fruits the day before to make a colorful strawberry colored sauce. The kids couldn’t resist a pink fruit salad sauce! Yummy!
Fruit Salad with Magic Sauce Recipe
You will need:
The fruits of your choice (we used : pineapples, apples, pears, bananas, oranges, strawberries, raspberries, and bilberries.)
Magic Sauce: Boil 400 mL of warer and 150 grams of sugar. Add a teaspoon each of orange and lemon zest, 4 anise stars, 2 vanilla sticks, 1 cinnamon stick, and 3 cardamom cloves. Let the mixture lightly boil for 10 minutes.
The following day to avoid ” even the fruit salad ! ” . Strawberries are added and baked into a delicious pink sauce !
If you have leftovers and want to avoid having even “more fruit salad!”, you can also make a delicious fruit compote by adding cooked strawberries and mixing the fruits up. We added more strawberries to create a deliciously pink compote!
Who ever said that it was difficult to get your kids to eat fruit!? 😉
