The Animals Observatory – The Finch collection

The Animals Observatory introduces the Finch collection

The Animals Observatory has unveiled a captivating new capsule collection, drawing inspiration from the illustrious Finch School of Art. What is this school all about? Designer Laia Aguilar pays tribute to this all-girls art institution located in New York, which was established in 1900. Mrs. Cosgrave, the esteemed director and founder of Finch College, articulated her vision: “My chief object is to awaken social consciousness in the girls. I want my graduates to become powers in their communities, not idle fashionable women. I don’t teach these young girls actual socialism, but social activism.” According to the brochure titled The Finch and its Future, the college represented a progressive hub where individuals actively participated as learners, workers, and engaged citizens.

Reviving the spirit of Finch College

Although the school ceased operations in 1976, its legacy continues through this striking new collection for both boys and girls. Featuring cherry red, vibrant blue, and off-white retro artistic prints, this latest offering from The Animals Observatory (commonly referred to as TAO) presents timeless fashion choices for children.
