For your children who love to sleep and also for those who find bedtime not so easy, here is an adorable night light that is very easy to make, with simple materials and a dose of creativity. My son wanted a polar bear, but you can use your imagination and create any shape or illustration possible. From houses, rockets, animals, or clouds, the possibilities are endless! The tracing paper is ideal for drawing with felt pens and coloured pencils. You can also use your children’s drawings and the result is poetic and fun!
What you will need:
– tracing paper
– white paper
– markers or coloured pencils
– a sewing machine or a thread and needle
– most importantly, a light garland (ideal with batteries)
Draw a silhouette or illustration on a piece of paper. For this adorable bear, you can also download and print the image here.
Slide your drawing between two pieces of tracing paper.
Cut the tracing paper following the outlines of your drawing.
Pull out the paper from in between the tracing paper.
Draw out details on the tracing paper and optionally color your drawing.
Sew around the edges of the tracing paper leaving approximately 0,5 cm margins. You can use a sewing machine or sew by hand. Don’t forget to leave an opening of about 1 cm in order to slide the light garland in between the two layers of tracing paper.
Slide the light garland in between the layers of tracing paper. Light up your night light and admire your work!
Thank you Mamagamy!
