On July 2nd – 4th 2016, Playtime Paris celebrated it’s 20th edition and also 10 year anniversary. Yoyo Mom could not miss out on this! 😉
Once again, we meticulously walked through each aisle of Playtime to discover the upcoming Spring Summer 2017 children’s fashion and decor trends. Although it’s practically impossible to see everything at this salon with over 500 exhibitors, we did our best over three days of attendance. Each year, Playtime Paris grows and grows presenting the very best in high quality fashion brands.
Overall, we are amazed at the passion and energy that each and every designer invests in their collections making Playtime a real treat! Here are a few finds, among many others that stood out for us for the upcoming kid’s fashion season.
Engel. celebrate life – This brand from the Netherlands, proposes colorful party and lifestyle goods. We particularly love the bamboo dishes that are quite popular already and found at the Womb Concept Store in Paris. Some new items that are practical and beautiful are the backpacks made of recycled plastic bottles.
Saltwater Sandals – We are already big fans of this brand. Our little ones tend to want to wear them everyday of Summer due to their comfort and also style. The Saltwater Original sandals in pink gold are the new must-have! Shiny and cute, all little girls will want a pair! 😉
Hundred Pieces – The trademark brand of SMALLable, the well known concept store for kids presents at Playtime for the very first time. Manufactured in Portugal, this season is refocusing on children’s fashion (and less on baby fashion), for ages 2 to 16 years old. This colorful collection contains several vintage style cuts including printed stripes and other exclusive prints such as tigers, and even shrimp!
Carlota Barnabe – Since the beginning, we are always coming back to discover this brand’s gorgeous color palettes each season. Born and made in Portugal, Carolota Barnabe presents tangerine orange, violet, taupe and light blue fashion inspired by Lisbon. This season, also presents a loose fit dress for women in taupe. One must-have includes a dress with a large collar and a skirt that just wants to twirl on little girls.
Bobo Choses – This well known brand is inspired by athletics this season. Bobo Choses continues to amaze us with their creativity while remaining true to the spirit of their brand. We love the vintage style cuts, and the washed out colors. From Olympic atheletes, sports balls, badminton rackets, and bicycles, it’s hard to choose a favorite piece as they are all simply gorgeous.
10 IS – There are several new prints, colors and styles that have caught our eye: Mount Fuji by Hokusai, dusty rose, three best-selling shiny tennis shoes, and a model without reinforcement in three easy to wear colors (mustard, sea green and beige pink).
Pom d’Api – We love the braided sandals in various color choices. Several other styles include a kawaii style sole sandal and also sandals for boys.
Hello Simone – This collection is inspired by Greece and Patmos Island. Adorable cat prints and colorful dresses.
Leoca – This brand is known for their high quality clothes. This season is very colorful and somewhat flashy. Certain pieces are designed with an exclusive fabric representing a vast landscape and offering a unique product.
Rylee + Cru – The theme for this collection is a pastel circus. Sumptuous allover prints include clowns, lions and other animals. Must-have: the unisex clown t-shirt!
Veja x Mathilde Cabanas – This collaboration will be a success. On a pair of ultra comfortable, eco-friendly shoes, Veja and Mathilde Cabanes collaborate with a pair of white and red BISOUS (kiss) printed shoes. Irresistible!
Someday Soon – This urban streetwear style brand is fresh and unique. THE cool brand uniquely for boys!
Nunuforme – This Japanese brand proposes unique, modern and originally cut clothes for kids. It’s difficult to choose a favorite piece!
