From July 2nd through 4th, Playtime Paris the international kid’s fashion tradeshow celebrated its 24th edition with over 500 children’s and maternity brands. Yoyo Mom was very excited to attend three full days of discovering the new fashion and lifestyle collections of the Spring-Summer 2019 season. Playtime also offers an excellent opportunity to meet young, talented fashion designers as well as buyers from all over the world.
Each season, trendsetter Julie Malait presents a few trend spaces with various looks that will prevail in the upcoming season.
This season Pierre Rabhi asks, “What planet will we leave to our children and what children will we leave to our planet?”.
Julie presents three space in response to Rabhi’s question:
- Nova Gaïa : nature, flowers, and respect for the planet.
- New Tribe : sharing, exchanging and traditional knowledge.
- Neo Optimism : Peace and love, optimism and positive energy.
Here are our inspirations from Playtime Paris in correlation with these three trends.
Carlotta Barnabe – The portugese brand that is known for a gorgeous color palette and soft to the touch fabrics, presented their collection entitled, “Ma Vague c’est le pool”.
Atelier Barn – bohemian, girly collection with delicate floral prints and overlapping lace tops and dresses.
Paade Mode – the definition of “feminine” with flowery, vintage touches. I love the juxtaposition of fabrics, the use of embroidery, the ribbons, and all the details that will surely please little girls.
Tambere – While waiting for their European e-shop to open, the South Korean brand continues to launch a magical collection, full of original colors and styles. It’s tempting to shop up the entire collection.
Matona – I absolutely love this Austrian brand. The idea is simple, the buyer can choose between 5 fabrics / colors, from which a complete wardrobe of assorted basics can be made. Normally it does not work like that, but at Matona, thanks to their intensive research and their way of mixing timeless styles, it works perfectly.
Wander & Wonder a tribute to Mexico, with color, positive energy, and fun prints from a country far away from the worries of the big city.
Bobo Choses “To Make a Garden” SS19 – If there is a brand that embodies all three trends, it is indeed the Spanish brand Bobo Choses. Each new collection reflects more and more on our relationship to the planet, the environment, and above all to love and well-being.
