Family-friendly restaurants in Paris

Discovering dining spots for families in Paris

Recently, Esther from Babyccino inquired about family-friendly dining options in Paris. While I was responding, I realized that these suggestions could benefit a wider audience! Here are some of Yoyo Mom’s top picks for dining out in Paris that cater to both parents and children. The goal is to enjoy a delightful meal in a laid-back atmosphere without the fear of disapproving looks from other diners—after all, we all know how lively children can be!

French cuisine

If you’re planning a trip to Paris, indulging in some traditional French fare is a must! The city boasts several exceptional brasseries and bistros renowned for their exceptional service. Some of our favorites include the stunning Le Train Bleu, Bofinger, and Bouillon Pigalle.

Loulou – Though it may be a bit on the pricier side, this elegant dining spot features a beautiful outdoor terrace nestled between the Louvre Museum and the meticulously landscaped Tuileries Garden. It offers ample space for kids to romp around or engage in a game of hide-and-seek while parents enjoy their meals.

Address:
Loulou
Musée des Arts décoratifs
107 rue de Rivoli
75001 Paris

Pavillon Puebla – This charming spot located in Buttes Chaumont Park is perfect for families. With three restaurants within the park, both Pavillon Puebla and Rosa Bonheur come highly recommended! Pavillon Puebla frequently hosts brunches with engaging activities for children.

Pavillon Puebla
Parc des Buttes Chaumont, Avenue Darcel
75019 Paris

Eataly – This trendy location behind the BHV department store is a wonderful place to explore. With over 37 worldwide locations, Eataly offers a great selection of delightful and authentic Italian cuisine—think of it as an Italian food emporium! However, one of our top summer suggestions in Paris is to pick up some delicious food from Eataly and enjoy a picnic along the Seine or in a nearby park (like Place des Vosges). This is sure to please both kids and adults alike!

Eataly
37 Rue Sainte-Croix de la Bretonnerie
75004 Paris

Ground Control – This is the ultimate family-friendly venue! Filled with food trucks and a variety of indoor and outdoor vendors, it attracts young trendsetters as well. Kids can enjoy retro video games, a foosball court, and run around in a spacious area adorned with an indoor airplane. Occasionally, they also host children’s events including DJ dance parties and craft workshops.

Ground Control
81 Rue du Charolais

Markets and hidden gems

MarchĂ© des Enfants Rouges – Located in the Marais, this market is the oldest Farmer’s Market in Paris (established in 1615!) and features various dining options, including exquisite Japanese, African, and Italian dishes. Don’t miss the crĂȘperie Chez Alain Miam Miam, which is simply a must-try! If the lines are long, there’s also a cafĂ© by the same name just outside the market at 26 rue Charlot. The neighborhood also boasts a lovely vegetable and plant garden at the market’s eastern end.

Address:
Marché des Enfants Rouges
39 rue de Bretagne
75003 Paris

Asian delights

Happy Nouilles – My kids are particularly fond of this restaurant located in the Marais, close to the Centre Pompidou. Situated in the Chinatown area of the 3rd arrondissement, Happy Nouilles features friendly staff, handmade noodles, and speedy service at reasonable prices. Paris has two other Chinatown areas as well, with the main one located in the 13th arrondissement where you can find excellent Chinese and Vietnamese restaurants that are popular among locals.

Address:
Happy Nouilles
95 Rue Beaubourg
75003 Paris

Coffee Club – Enjoy a meal crafted by your skilled friend and chef Carrie Solomon here. Just steps away from Luxembourg Gardens, this restaurant offers American cuisine made with fresh, seasonal ingredients. Be sure to try their delicious Caesar salad and mouthwatering cheesecake!

Address:
Coffee Club
87, RUE D’ASSAS

La Felicità – This expansive Italian eatery from the Big Mamma group features a bar and gelateria alongside multiple dining spots. Kids adore La Felicità for its pasta and pizza options, plus there is plenty of open space with sound blending into the environment. Parents appreciate the availability of high chairs, and every second Sunday of the month is a kid-friendly day where parents can dine while their little ones play with experienced sitters in a designated area.

La FelicitĂ
5 Parvis Alan Turing

My kids’ favorite dining destination

Le Pavillon des Canaux – Located along the Canal de l’Ourcq near Paris Plage, this laid-back restaurant is perfect for a family lunch. There are lots of activities available, including boating and a swimming pool for kids. Arrive early, sign up for activities (usually starting at 1 PM), and try to arrange for your kids to enjoy their meals in the bathtub, which is a dream scenario for many!

Dining outside of Paris

Mob Hotel – If you’re visiting the renowned MarchĂ© Saint Ouen, a meal at the Mob Hotel can be a convenient stop.

Dock B Pantin – This new hotspot in Pantin (often referred to as the “Brooklyn” of Paris) features a large terrace overlooking the Canal de l’Ourcq. It’s a lovely walk or a short metro ride from Paris. During July and August, starting at 2 PM, families can enjoy paddle boats and paddle boards right in front of Dock B. It also showcases an engaging free exhibit about the future of love (more suited for adults), but the last section by Nick & ChloĂ© is family-friendly. 😉
